Buildings and Exterior

On the 15th of October, all the external catwalks were taken down and the external view of the building is now virtually complete.
Here on site, 2 weeks away from completion, work on the external and interior decorations have reached their peak.

Buildings and Exterior

The building which measures 50m x 26m and has a height of 12.5m completely encases the wind tunnel itself. So that at one glance the building looks like a gymnasium.
The furrow around the site which we opted for instead of a fence to match this view, is also taking shape at high speed.

Cooling System

The cooling system is also based on a new approach, suitable for a new wind tunnel system.
This system cools 55 cubic meters of water - used to control the wind tunnel air temperature - to around 7 to 15 degrees centigrade at night.
Through this system we are able to achieve fine control over the temperature in the wind tunnel while keeping the amount of energy use as low as possible.

Interior

The wall between the test section and the data acquisition room is all glass, allowing for a good view of the wind tunnel model.
The model preparation room has ample space for working with the wind tunnel models so allowing for smooth testing.
Both rooms are into their final phases of construction.
