Testing

the ML prototype

After the shakedown tests last July, the ML prototype has been testedat Suzuka and Motegi (Road, Super Speedway) and has complete 7 tests to date and is finishing the items on the test menu smoothly.
Most of the minor troubles we experienced have been solved and the settings for the chassis are gradually taking shape. Currently the best time for Suzuka was 1'46"1 which is 1"3 faster than the best lap of the new Formula Nippon cars at the last group test. At the Super Speedway the best lap was 30"9 which is extremely close to the laptime of the computer simulation.
The engine tests are also getting along smoothly and the engine we have been using ever since the first shake down has clocked nearly 4000km. This is extraordinarily durable for a race engine and we have got to the point where we can probably say that you can use this engine for half a season without having to rebuild it.
Development for this car after this is to build a second car with more refinements and crash tests to prepare for mass production.
